 You know my record. I am a lifelong supporter of our precious 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms. For 12 years in the Congress, I maintained a perfect “A” rating from both the NRA and GOA, and I am proud to have the endorsement of Gun Owners of America in my race against John McCain. John and I have very real differences on the issue of guns and gun rights. In fact, the NRA called John Mcain “one of the premier flag carriers for the enemies of the second amendment.” With an Obama Administration that is openly hostile to our rights, we need to elect a Consistent Conservative you can trust to protect and defend your rights and freedoms. I ask for your vote in the August 24th Primary! 

The John McCain Record

• Authored the unconstitutional McCain-Feingold campaign finance bill that was designed to silence groups like the NRA and GOA.

• Authored a bill to close "the gun show loophole" in spite of the fact that there is no such thing as a gun show loophole.  McCain's legislation would have regulated all private gun sales at gun shows and created a de facto registry of all gun show attendees.

• Acted as a spokesman for Americans for Gun Safety to push for strict gun control measures.

• After 9/11, when there was a push for allowing pilots to carry weapons, McCain prepared an amendment to replace "firearms" with "stun guns."

• Favored a ban on small, inexpensive handguns.

• Appeared in television ads to support restrictions on handguns that were funded by liberal billionaire Andrew McKelvey, who had funded television ads to support passage of McCain-Feingold.
