PHOENIX, AZ.  FEBRUARY 15, 2010.  Before hundreds of grassroots activists and Tea Party patriots, former U.S. Congressman and conservative talk show host J.D. Hayworth launched his challenge to moderate, 24-year incumbent John McCain today.

The Hayworth campaign also launched a “Money  Bomb” on Monday, which is already resulting in contributions from around the country. 

More conservative than McCain on fighting illegal immigration, social issues like gay marriage and pro-life policies, tax cuts and opposing government bailouts, the long-term Senator has resorted to attacking Hayworth on spending despite inferior ratings from Citizens Against Government Waste and the American Conservative Union.  The Heritage Foundation also found McCain’s amnesty plan would have cost American taxpayers $2.6 trillion.
