Latest TV Ad Released: McCain in His Own Words "I chose lying"

Phoenix, AZ (AUGUST 6) - The J.D. Hayworth for Senate Campaign began airing a new television advertisement today using Sen. John McCain's own words saying that when faced with a tough political decision, he "chose lying" to voters rather than losing an election.

In his book Worth The Fighting For, McCain said of a dilemma he faced during his failed 2000 presidential campaign: "[I]t could come down to lying or losing. I chose lying."

The script of the ad:

John McCain:
     "It could come down to lying or losing. I chose lying."
Voice-over:
     "Now, McCain lies . . . again"
McCain:
     "I never supported amnesty."
Voice-over
     "But McCain wrote the amnesty bill."
Echo McCain:
     "I chose lying."
McCain:
     "Complete the danged fence."
Voice-over:
     "McCain opposed the border fence."
Echo McCain:
     "I chose lying."
McCain:
     "And I'll protect Social Security."
Voice-over:
     "McCain supported Social Security and Medicare for illegal aliens."
Echo McCain:
     "I chose lying."
Voice-over:
     "Say no to amnesty. Fire John McCain."
J.D. Hayworth:
     "I'm J.D. Hayworth. I've made my mistakes but I approve this ad because I will never vote for amnesty."
